Subject: 2025 International Geomagnetic Reference Model
【Affected Products】
All integrated avionics systems (G900X®, G950®, G1000(H), G1000 NXi, Cirrus Perspective, Embraer Prodigy) equipped with a Garmin AHRS and with GDU software version 6.00 or higher are affected.
All Garmin G2000®, G3000®, and G5000®(H) systems equipped with a Garmin AHRS, as well as the Embraer Prodigy Touch, are also affected.

G1000, G900X, G950, Cirrus Perspective, and Embraer Prodigy systems with GDU software version 5.02 and earlier are covered in a separate service bulletin. Please contact your Garmin dealer.

The 2025 International Geomagnetic Reference Field Model is now available. See the "Resolution" section for instructions on how to update the IGRF geomagnetic field model. This update must be completed by December 31, 2026.
【Resolution】
Garmin Integrated Avionics Systems with GIA software versions earlier than 7.00 and later than 7.71
The 2025 IGRF geomagnetic field model can be updated as part of Navigation Database Cycle 2511 (and subsequent database cycles).
1. Update the navigation database according to the instructions in the applicable pilot's guide.
2. When the following prompt appears, select "OK" to update the IGRF geomagnetic field model.

For systems with multiple GRS units installed, a similar message will appear for each GRS.
Garmin Integrated Avionics System with GIA software versions 7.00 to 7.71
After updating to Navigation Database Cycle 2511 (or a later database cycle), the following prompt will appear on the display. Selecting "OK" to update the IGRF will result in a timeout error. The IGRF will not be updated.
To update the IGRF, do the following:
1. Insert a blank SD card into your computer's SD card reader/writer.

For G900X, G950, G1000(H), Cirrus Perspective, and Embraer Prodigy systems using 006-B1330-07, the SD card must be SanDisk brand, 2GB or smaller, and formatted in FAT32.
2. Visit: fly.garmin.com/fly-garmin/redirect/magvar-update.
3. Download one of the following 2025 IGRF update files:
● 006-B1330-07 - For G900X, G950, G1000(H), Cirrus Perspective, and Embraer Prodigy systems
● 006-B1330-08 - For G2000, G3000, G5000, and Embraer Prodigy Touch systems
4. Save the file to your computer.
5. For Microsoft Windows systems:
a. Double-click the .exe file saved in step 4.
b. Follow the on-screen prompts to save the database to the SD card.
c. Continue to step 7.

Do not copy the .exe file to the SD card.
6. For other operating systems:
a. Open the zip file and extract it to a folder.
b. Continue to step 7.

① The contents will contain several folders named according to the software version (e.g., 4.00 or 13.00) and several additional files, such as igrf_10.rgn, igrf_13.rgn, etc.
② Do not copy the zip archive to the SD card.
7. Eject the SD card.
8. Connect the aircraft to the ground power unit.
9. Insert the SD card into the top slot of the PFD1.

Not using the PFD1 may cause the IGRF database update to fail.
10. Unplug the circuit breaker for GIA #2 to prevent it from receiving power.
11.Power on the system.

The following image is for reference only. The actual GDU software version shown may vary depending on the current GDU software version.
13. The system will reboot and begin uploading the 2025 IGRF geomagnetic field model.

Do not interact with the MFD during this process. Interacting with the MFD may cause the IGRF database update to fail.

This process may take longer than 20 minutes to complete. Do not power cycle the system during this step.
14. If progress does not begin, do the following:
a. Power off the corresponding GRS.
b. Power cycle the corresponding GRS.
15. When the update is complete, this message will appear on the display.
16. Remove the SD card.
17. Reset the circuit breaker on GIA #2.
18. Power off the system.
